Date set for 2019 planting day

3 June 2019

Preparations are well underway for Grow West’s annual Community Planting Day! This year’s event will be held on Sunday 21st July in Ingliston.

PPWCMA project coordinators, Helena and Emma, along with the planting day committee visited the site last week to discuss logistics for the event.

4000 trees will be planted on the day to help create a biolink connecting W. James Whyte Island Reserve (The Island) and Werribee Gorge State Park.

Registrations will open in June. Sign up to the Grow West enewsletter to get an email notification once registrations open.

The event has been funded through the Greening the West – 1 Million Tree program, which is part of the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program, and Melbourne Water’s Stream Frontage Program. Delivered by the Port Phillip and Westernport CMA, event partners include Melbourne Water, Friends of Werribee Gorge and Long Forest Mallee, Victorian National Parks Association, Victorian Mobile Landcare Group, Bacchus Marsh Lions Club, 15 Trees, GJ Gardener Homes and Bacchus Marsh Bendigo Bank.
